"I'm your huckleberry" - Doc Holliday. What an iconic line, makes you swoon and also makes you look around at your best pards and say a prayer for their existence and their impact in your life.
But what does it mean to be someones "huckleberry?" well, "I'll be the one you're looking for" or "I'll be the person to help or challenge you." I hope like hell you have at least one good huckleberry in your life. Someone that speaks your praises, holds you accountable, cheers the loudest for you, tells you when you're being toxic but above all else... walks next to you with arms locked.
I am a FIRM believer that our friends and our community are our lifeline, the ones that keep us grounded, sane, and provide us strength and stability when our own legs grow weary.
Now, I don't know what I would do without mine... god bless the homies, man. We all live spread out, not only throughout the country but across country borders as well. Miles apart and months sometimes a year or two in between in person visits and adventures... but the dynamic doesn't change. No matter the miles, no matter the time passed, no matter the sometimes absence in communication the friendship stays the same, strong. Through the hard days, the good days, the dark days and the bright days I know I have a cheerleader in my corner and I hope my best of pals know that no matter what I want the most for them always and I will ALWAYS be their loudest cheerleader.
I know the days can be dark, I know adult friendships are hard, I know that sometimes we all feel alone in this space we call life but please know... I will be your huckleberry. I will always be your biggest fan and your biggest accountability partner. Just holler, I gotch' you.
Goose, this one's for you. I don't know how to adequately thank you for your friendship, your support and the impact you've had on my life... just please know you mean more to me than I can simply express. I wouldn't want to venture through this life with anyone else. The adventures have been good and only to get greater. Here's to you, here's to many more... You're a real national treasure, don't ever change. I'm your huckleberry.
